Always a favorite place to go on our annual vacation to key west. Unbeatable location, good service and this last time the usually good food was exceptional, possibly new chef not sure but something has changed for the better.
It was a Black Friday sunset dinner with no waiting line--we were seated immediately as a party of three. The food was surprisingly delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were prompt and polite. Live entertainment on the beach right in front of the restaurant added a charming touch to the experience. Parking was hassle-free. A convenient spot for catching the sunset or enjoying a quick drink and bite after swimming in the area. Few seating options, tables on the sand, near the parking lot, and on a concrete patio. Open and shaded areas.
Yes, yes, yes!!! Perfect view with the meal. We got crab/snapper cake and mussels in white sauce. What can I say? Perfection!
Salute had a summer promo where they offer half off on main entrees before 7PM, I believe. This worked out perfectly for us, and we got to even enjoy a game of volleyball, which the outdoor seating was next to. My Fettuicine Alfredo with Scallops ($41 originally, $20.5) was alright if it wasn't for the divine blackened scallops. I'm skeptical around scallops usually in my dishes due to the blandness, but blackened helped tremendously in seasoning them well. Lastly, I am so happy they have Blue Heaven's Key Lime Pie ($11) here since Blue Heaven was closed for the season. Not only are they tall, but they might just be the few pies out there that have a meringue topping.
It's been a while since I have been to Salute on the Beach because it is very touristy, but at the insistence of my friend, I gave it another shot! I stopped in for a late lunch and was seated right away. I ordered the shrimp sandwich a salad instead of potato salad. Everything was delicious, fresh and light... Perfect for a hot day riding a bike! The margarita was not bad either lol... Next time I will opt to have the shrimp salad OVER my salad, but either way I feel like you can't go wrong!
Located right on the beach away from the bustle of Duval Street, Salute on the Beach is a great spot for dinner (or a drink) at sunset. If you sit outside, there's beautiful views of the ocean. It can definitely get busy, and the wait can be long. However, they do have a to-go section where you can grab a drink while you wait. Food and drinks are good. Both the calamari and mussels were tasty, and a good price for the amount of food, too. Delicious key lime pie! Restaurant is also right by the pier, so a nice little walk while you wait for your table or after dinner.
What a delightful discovery! This Key West gem truly feels like heaven. Our lunch commenced with the refreshing Caprese salad, a harmonious blend of ripe tomatoes, the mozzarella was amazing. The waiter told me all the food is the same as their other restaurant blue heaven. Meanwhile, the other guests savored the gluten-free white bean soup, as it was a bit windy that day. As for my main course, I indulged in the grouper with pasta, a special that left me utterly impressed. The tender grouper, perfectly cooked, alongside al dente pasta, in a light cream sauce. And the best part? This establishment is incredibly dog-friendly, making it a haven for both foodies and their furry companions. Without a doubt, I'll be back to savor more of this culinary paradise.
Wonder fine casual dining on the Clarence S Higgs beach in Key West. Both Richelle and Dad got the lobster special, amazing, Florida's lobster, scallops, and a vodka sauce. I usually don't like vodka sauce but this one was different and I liked it. I got the grouper special, the sauce had a heavy lime flavor that at first I was not sure I would enjoy, but once I had some it completely brought a bright and acidic touch to the grouper. Service is very attentive and friendly. My dark and stormy drink was a good combination with the grouper.
